color my world

I'm sharing a fun card today on the Paper Issues blog for the Paper Issues FREE Printable feature. Every month Paper Issues offers a page of printable cards that are completely free to download and they are always awesome! June's designs are all black and white and offer so many possibilities.

For this card, I opened the "You Color My World" card in Photoshop Elements and filled the letters in one word with bright colors. The crayon stamp is new from Lawn Fawn and I colored each with alcohol markers. I used the striped patterned paper from October Afternoon's Treasure Map collection to pull it all together.

I'm also linking this up to the new Issue: Seas the Day! Play along with and LINK UP your own project and you will have a chance to win this October Afternoon Treasure Map collection pack for yourself. This is a prize you don't want to miss! How to get in the running?

1. Create a new project (or find and existing one in your albums) that fits into one of these categories: summer/vacation, anything that can be enjoyed on or by the water (boating, fishing, etc.), use anchors as an embellishment, use October Afternoon products, use Paper Issues FREE June or July printables

2. LINK UP HERE to the Seas The Day blog post from the web or Instagram. You have until Sunday, July 5th.  It's that easy!

Need some retail therapy to get you going? Use code JENBOOM in the Paper Issues shop for 20% off your whole order!

a fantastic card...

Happy Monday all! The sun is shining here, it is almost 50 degrees (finally!) and the thaw is coming. So to celebrate, I made this fun little card to link up with the new Issue over at Paper Issues. The fan, stars and phrase are from one of Lawn Fawn's new releases, Best Pun Ever.

Enamored with Enamel is wide open to interpretation. I chose to use the enamel dots and polka dot patterned papers to play along this time! I hope you'll make something to join in the fun. You could win a Paper Camellia March Kit for linking a project by March 15th - new or old! Here are the details:
  • Use enamel embellishments, like enamel dots, hearts, chevrons, words, etc.
  • Do you love stars? Let them take a starring role on your project.
  • Are polka dots your thing? Go ahead, go dotty with dots.
  • Get things pointed in the right direction by using arrows, geotags, globes, etc.
  • Is punctuation your thing? Add punctuation symbols to your project.
  • Share the love by using hearts.
  • Show us something you absolutely love, whether it be a person, flower, food, thing, place, movie, song, etc.
  • Use Paper Camellia's kits.

run the day :: the rubber cafe guest dt...

I'm thrilled to be this month's Guest Designer over at The Rubber Cafe using the beautiful January Creative Cafe Kit of the Month! Today I am sharing a combination greeting card and gift card holder. As soon as I saw the to-go coffee cup image I knew it would be the first used. The Fancy Pants True Friend collection included in the kit is one of my all time favorites with its warmth and whimsy. A perfect pairing for this month's stamp designs! Here is my card:

To punctuate the "run the day" quote, I stamped it on a page torn out of my planner from last year, showing the times on the calendar. To add more to the coffee theme, I knew I wanted to create coffee rings. My tool? The lid to the Fancy Pants sequin container included in the kit. It was the perfect size! I simply ran a brush with some brown water color along the edge, stamped it twice on my yellow patterned paper and splattered a bit more by tapping the brush lightly against my finger.

I'd love if you'd pop by and say "Hi" over at The Rubber Cafe blog. There, I'm sharing all of the details of how this card/gift was created.

Go out and run the day!

Jen
